"The True Storyteller" uses macro photography to capture the intricate details of the human eye. By focusing on its unique patterns, colors, and textures, I aim to reveal how each eye tells a personal story. Parts of the eye such as veins, flecks in the iris, and subtle color variations all contribute to a narrative that reflects the individual it belongs to.
My motivation for this project comes from my fascination with the complexity and uniqueness of the eye. Each eye is shaped by a person’s experiences, emotions, and age, making it a visual record of their life journey. I want to highlight the beauty in the smallest details that make each eye distinct. These features are often overlooked, but they hold powerful stories.
By capturing close-up images, I hope to draw the viewer’s attention to features like clarity, spots, wavy textures, and intricate webbing in the iris. The eye becomes more than just a tool for seeing, it symbolizes the uniqueness of a person. It is a mirror of their identity and experiences.
Through "The True Storyteller," I invite viewers to reflect on the depth of human experience. Even in something as simple as an eye, there is a rich, untold story. This project seeks to remind us that every person’s gaze carries with it a unique narrative, one that is revealed in the smallest, most intimate details.
This project dives into the historical and emotional landscape of my family’s farm, located just outside Collingwood, Ontario. The farm, a place where time feels suspended, holds within its soil and structures, a deep, quiet history, one that reflects a way of life that is gradually disappearing. In this series of landscape photographs, I explore the intersection between nature and the human imprint on the land, capturing the subtle traces of past lives: weathered cabins, hand-pumped wells, and tools that have long outlasted their original purpose.
